Jakarta Welcomes You with Open Arms
The Welcome Monument in Indonesia’s capital city of Jakarta was commissioned for construction by the then incumbent President Sukarno to greet the thousands of athletes and foreign travelers that would attend the 1962 Asian Games. The Welcome Monument in many ways is a representation of Indonesian President Sukarno’s dream of turning Jakarta in to a modern metropolis. Almost half a century after the monument was erected Jakarta is well on its way into becoming a regional hub and a truly modern city.
Located at one of Jakarta’s busiest roundabouts near a well known luxury hotel, the Welcome Monument is located in a focal point of Jakarta. The monument is usually best seen during the late evening when the setting sun and the gentle cascade of its fountains create a beautiful visual effect. The central statue shows the image of two Indonesian children with their hands outstretched towards the sky in a sign of warm greeting.
Located in the Central District of Jakarta the Welcome Monument is housed in the city’s veritable nucleus. Inhabitants of the Indonesian Archipelago all throng here for commerce, trade and education. Also many top Indonesian companies have chosen M.H. Thamrin Road as their base of operations, while many important government offices are also located in this area.
Apart from the Welcome Monument a number of other Indonesian statues and monuments are also seen at traffic intersections such as the Farmer’s Monument, Arjuna Wijaya Statue and Prince Diponegoro Statue. Some of the city’s best entertainment venues are also seen in this area such as The National Museum, Textile Museum, Jakarta Arts Building, Puppet Museum and Taman Ismail Marzuki Arts Center.
For visitors looking to stay in Jakarta’s most central area, a great accommodation option particularly for long stay travelers would be the Jakarta serviced apartments that are located near the Welcome Monument.

Finally a movie for kids without sex, violence, potty-humor or even the word “Shut-up.” I didn’t think it was possible in this age to create a movie of this quality without all the standard garbage. This movie has a great story line, believable characters and great songs.
Even if you don’t like musicals, you’ll still enjoy this. It’s a refreshing story. Disney really pulled it off with this one. Great job Disney. It’s a hit…
Gabriella Montez is a shy, studious new student at East High School; but that all changes when she is forced to sing at a karaoke contest with Troy Bolton, the captain of the school’s basketball team. After spending time with each other, both realize they share a passionate love for music and singing. But will they retain this love when their school is telling them they cannot be together?
They have an excellent CD Soundtrack too…

PayPal is essential these days if you have a small business or you buy online. But I didn’t realize PayPal is also a great investment.
Check you current bank account out… How much are they paying you in interest? I found I was only making %0.7…. Not even one stinking percent. And of course they were charging me for everything.
Did you know I’m making %4.43 on the money I have in my PayPal account? It’s free to fund the account (no transaction fee) and withdrawl from it.
I signed up my business with PayPal and one for my personal shopping. I activated the money market account PayPal offers and now I’m making %4.43 on my account….
It doesn’t get better than that…

One of the many “futures” of the internet will be to have a clearer look back into time. Here at The Internet Archive you have full access to the past. You can go back in time through the audio, video and files of the past.
The main webpage of the The Internet Archive has a heading that is broken up in to category pages; Web | Moving Images | Texts | Audio | Software | Education |
In the ‘Web’ section, you can find old outdated webpages. In the ‘Moving Images’ pages, you can watch an old movie, as old as the 1930’s (I watched a movie on Abe Lincoln. In the ‘Texts’ pages you can view an a speech or read a book. In the ‘Audio” pages, you can listen to a Presidential speech, or a influential person speak or even listen to an old 78rpm record newly digitized. In the ‘Software’ pages, you can download an old video game you played many years ago (remember Leisure Suit Larry?). In the ‘Education’ pages, you can watch a lecture or read a textbook.
Look into the past atThe Internet Archive. It will prepare you for the future.
